Adding a TV channel type

How to add a new TV channel type

Channel types act as categories that sort your channels. We suggest categorizing channels by type. For example: News, Movies, Documentaries, and similar.

Step 1: Select a TV channel item

From the left side menu, choose any TV channel list. This will open a new window displaying three options: Channel List, Channel Type, and Settings.

Step 2: Locate the TV channel type

The List page is shown by default. Click the Channel type button on the top to access the correct window.

Navigate to the Channel type section

Step 3: Add a new channel type

Press the "Add" button to start adding a new channel type. A popup window will appear asking you to input the name of the new TV Channel type. Click Next to create the type.

Once a category is created, you have the options to edit the name, description, and image of the selected category.

Step 4: Link TV channels to your new Channel type

You can add items to a Channel type by scrolling down in your opened category and clicking the + button in the “Items” section. A popup window will open where you can check all of the channels you want to add to your category. Click link to add the items.

Allocating TV channels to Channel types

Once the items are included in a category, they will be displayed in the “Items” list.

How to allocate categories within a channel section

There is also an option to assign categories to an item in the item settings section. To do that navigate to the TV channel you want to categorize and locate the “Package & categories” section.

By clicking on the categories window, a dropdown will appear where you can select and deselect as many categories as you like.

Keep in mind that a TV channel will not display unless a category and package are assigned. This means that the TV channel should always have a category assigned. The package can be default, meaning you can choose Public.
